How to use the map maker
- Add and remove spots. Start from the suggested attractions, open Browse all attractions to see everything nearby sorted by distance, or search and add your own. Up to 8 spots per map — fewer reads better.
- Resize icons. Each spot has an S / M / L size button. Make your headline attractions large and supporting ones small so the map has a visual hierarchy instead of eight equal pins.
- Flip labels. If a label overlaps a road name or another pin, use the ⇅ button to flip it below the icon.
- Time rings. Toggle 5/10/15-minute walk or drive rings to show how much of the city is reachable from your door.
📌 The most important rule: keep your pins at a similar distance
The map zooms to fit every pin you add. Mixing close spots (a coffee shop 4 blocks away) with far ones (an airport 25 miles out) forces the map to zoom way out — your nearby spots collapse into a distorted cluster around the house and the map stops being readable. You can make as many maps as you want, so make two: one close-up map for walkable spots and daily conveniences, and one regional map for the airport, day trips, and far-away destinations.
