Our group really enjoyed our long weekend stay here! The property was very clean and spacious but also provided some privacy to accommodate our large family. Surge was responsive when we reached out to them and also accommodated an early check-in. We felt secure given that the property was gated and had smart locks on both entry doors. Service animals are different - under fair housing laws, you cannot refuse service animals, charge pet fees, or apply different rules when a guest is accompanied by a legitimate service animal.
Do I get access to an owner portal?
Yes! Surge's owner portal keeps you connected and in control. Through the portal you can block dates for personal use, view upcoming reservations, see your nightly pricing rates, access booking statements, communicate with guests, and monitor your property's performance - all in one convenient place.
Do you screen the guests that are staying in my property?
Yes, Surge provides intelligent guest screening technology to help protect your property. We proactively assess guest risk through legal, non-discriminatory checks. Guests submit personal details including name, date of birth, address, and contact information. They verify their identity with a live selfie and government-issued ID (driver's license or passport). This process confirms the guest's true identity, checks for fraudulent documents, and generates a risk report for review before arrival.
Do you provide insurance for guest damages?
As a co-hosting client, you maintain your own property insurance and are responsible for damage protection. However, Surge can help you set up damage deposit policies and assist with documenting any issues. What happens if there is guest damage to my property?
You can require a security deposit through the booking platforms (typically $500-1000). Surge will help document any damage and support you through the claims process with the booking platform's resolution center.
